Water quality monitoring

Monitoring of water quality has been widely embraced by a range of government organisations. Unfortunately monitoring programs are poorly conceived, designed and implemented. This undermines the quality of the data and by default any management decisions that are made based on the data.

The team are highly experienced in developing monitoring programs that answer specific management questions for estuaries, freshwater streams, ocean outfalls, stormwater networks and wetlands. Monitored variables include:

• Dissolved oxygen (DO)
• Biological oxygen demand (BOD)
• Chemical oxygen demand (COD)
• Nutrients (TN, TKN, NOx, NH4+, TP, OP)
• Total suspended solids
